Kolkata, March 7: Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently visited South 24 Parganas to participate in the party’s transformation journey and other events. During his speech, he made significant announcements regarding the West Bengal Assembly elections in 2026. Amit Malviya, a senior BJP leader and member of the national executive, shared key excerpts from Shah’s address on social media platform X, commenting on Mamata Banerjee’s administration.
Malviya stated, “Home Minister Amit Shah assured state employees that if the BJP comes to power in May 2026, the 7th Pay Commission will be implemented within 45 days. For 15 years under Mamata Banerjee’s rule, state employees have been deprived of their rightful payments, including pending dearness allowances (DA), despite directives from the Supreme Court. The BJP stands firmly with millions of employees and pensioners in West Bengal. Delays in justice do not equate to denial of justice.”
On March 2, while addressing party workers at the launch of the ‘Transformation Journey’ in South 24 Parganas, Shah remarked that the support for BJP’s initiatives indicates that Bengal is ready for change. He criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC) for making infiltration and corruption part of their policy, which undermines youth employment and rights, asserting that the TMC will never return to power.
Shah further accused the Mamata government of crossing all limits of appeasement by allocating ₹80 crores for science and technology and ₹5700 crores for madrasas in the budget. He vowed that once the BJP forms the government in Bengal, Mamata Banerjee’s goons will be imprisoned. He also highlighted the atrocities against women under her regime and reiterated that while the Mamata government opposes the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the Modi government at the center ensures that not a single Hindu refugee’s citizenship can be revoked.
