Hyderabad, August 11: K.T. Rama Rao, the executive president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has alleged that a land deal involving Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s brother is even larger than the Karnataka MUDA scam.
Rao informed the media that Konda Reddy’s company, Tesseract Advanced Systems, was allocated government land worth ₹200 crores for just ₹7 crores. He questioned how a company with a paid-up capital of only ₹1 lakh and reportedly no employees could acquire such valuable land.
He further inquired about the true ownership of Tesseract Advanced Systems and its financial credibility. “If Konda Reddy has no connection to Tesseract, why was he presented as the chairman and represented the company in meetings?” Rao asked.
K.T. Rama Rao demanded an investigation into the roles of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, his brother, and the involved ministers and officials. He referred to Tesseract Advanced Systems as a “shell company” and presented data gathered by the BRS to the media. According to the company’s website, its contact number is ‘123456789’, which Rao argued indicates the nature of the company.
Citing the company’s annual report, he stated that it has no employees and is registered at a flat in Patancheru, Sangareddy district. Rao also displayed photographs of Konda Reddy participating in the US-India Business Forum’s Strategic Forum, claiming he attended as the chairman of Tesseract Advanced Systems.
The former minister accused that valuable land worth ₹200 crores, taken from farmers near Ravirala for the ‘Future City’ project, was allocated to the Chief Minister’s brother for a mere ₹7 crores.
He questioned the Chief Minister, “If another startup forms a company with ₹1 lakh equity tomorrow, will you grant them land worth ₹200-300 crores without following proper procedures? Or are there different laws and rules for your brothers?”
Rao asserted that the BRS government would not let this matter go and stated that opposition leader Rahul Gandhi must also respond. He announced plans to meet with the state governor and approach the Lokayukta, utilizing all available legal and constitutional avenues to demand an investigation into the alleged scam.
K.T. Rama Rao reminded that the MUDA scam had nearly forced Karnataka’s then Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to resign, as his wife was allocated 3 acres of land in that case.
He pointed out that when BRS leader Krishank held a press conference regarding Tesseract, Industry Minister D. Shridhar Babu claimed there was no connection between the company and Konda Reddy. Rao questioned, “If he is not associated with the company, how was he granted membership in the USIBF? What capacity does he have to attend meetings?”
BRS leaders displayed a photo of Konda Reddy sitting next to the US Consul General, emphasizing that his nameplate clearly indicated his association with Tesseract. They claimed that Tesseract organized the meeting.
