Ranchi, August 3: Babulal Marandi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Jharkhand Assembly, has accused the state government of massive irregularities in recruitment examinations. He claims that the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) have openly sold jobs.
Marandi demanded the immediate dismissal of the JPSC and JSSC chairpersons, examination controllers, and secretaries. He also called for filing criminal cases against the involved officials and ensuring their arrests. Furthermore, he urged for a comprehensive investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’ on Monday, Marandi alleged that brokers took candidates to Nepal, Bihar, and West Bengal to memorize 135 to 150 questions, of which around 120 were asked in the exams. He claimed that internet services were shut down at examination centers to facilitate this alleged malpractice. Marandi also suggested that the JSSC delayed the announcement of results for the 26,000 teacher recruitment exam to avoid scrutiny due to financial transactions.
He asserted that the initial investigation by CID officials Sandhya Rani and Nidhi Pandey was progressing in the right direction, as confirmed by an old diary. However, he alleged that the government changed the investigation team to suppress the truth.
Marandi accused the government of attempting to influence the investigation by appointing Manoj Kaushik as the CID’s ADG. He claimed that Kaushik faced allegations related to illegal coal trading while serving as the Superintendent of Police in Hazaribagh, and that the government has suppressed the pending ACB investigation regarding this matter.
He alleged that the government is providing protection to the guilty through such officials. Marandi appealed to the people of the state to support the students’ movement, stating that it is a fight to save Jharkhand’s future. He urged the public to stand with the students wholeheartedly.
