An intelligence source revealed that the shooting coincided with a significant number of women and children participating in the protests. For the past 50 days, these groups have been present at the protest site, and their numbers surged on Sunday.
Pakistan has consistently ignored the demands from the region. Instead of addressing their concerns, the government has deployed a large number of security personnel to the area.
An official source stated that the violence has resulted in at least 40 fatalities so far.
