Mumbai, June 3: Actor Ali Fazal recently opened up about his creative partnership with his wife, Richa Chadha. He emphasized that they never strive to fit into a specific image. Instead, their focus remains on taking on meaningful and challenging roles.
Both Fazal and Chadha are renowned for their performances in diverse and demanding films.
Fazal stated, “Richa and I have always been drawn to characters that challenge us and resonate with the audience. Maintaining a glamorous image has never been a priority for us.”
He considers himself fortunate to have landed roles that have transcended the screen and become part of pop culture.
According to Fazal, the most beautiful feeling for an actor is when the audience connects deeply with their work. He cited examples of Chadha’s character “Bholi Punjaban” from ‘Fukrey’ and his own role as “Gudddu Pandit” in ‘Mirzapur,’ both of which remain memorable to fans. These characters have gained such popularity that audiences often quote their dialogues and revisit the films repeatedly.
Fazal highlighted their mutual understanding when it comes to selecting roles. They both respect the fact that acting is a profession filled with uncertainties. Sometimes, risks must be taken, while at other times, patience is required. However, the most crucial aspect is to maintain honesty in storytelling.
He added, “We always strive to be part of stories and characters that linger in people’s memories for a long time. Our goal is not just success but also to maintain relevance.”
Fazal will soon appear in ‘Mirzapur – The Movie,’ set to release on September 4.
