Akhilesh Attacks BJP Government; Claims Exploitation of PDA Community at Its Peak

Lucknow, August 14: Akhilesh Yadav, the national president of the Samajwadi Party, has launched a fierce attack on the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh. He accused the government of allowing the exploitation of the PDA community to reach alarming levels. Yadav stated that the government’s claims of ‘zero tolerance’ towards crime have proven to be hollow, with criminals feeling emboldened. He highlighted serious concerns regarding law and order, citing incidents such as the murder of Saurabh Vishwakarma in Pratapgarh, the assault on a doctor in Badaun, and the killing of an electricity contractor in Gorakhpur.

In a statement released on Friday, Yadav condemned the brutal murder of Saurabh Vishwakarma, a member of the PDA community, by elements protected by the ruling powers. He noted that the incident of violence against a doctor in Badaun has sparked outrage among medical professionals in the state. Furthermore, he pointed out the sword attack that led to the death of an electricity contractor in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister‘s home district. Yadav claimed that life has become increasingly difficult for the PDA community under the BJP government, with rising inflation and rampant corruption. He described police stations and courts as centers of corruption.

Accusing the police of being powerless against anti-social elements, Yadav remarked that incidents of youth murders and rapes of women have surged in the state. Complaints about land grabbing and the purchase of land at low prices only to sell it at higher rates have become commonplace. He also criticized the BJP government for deaths in police custody, alleged fake encounters, and the buying and selling of farmers’ land in Ayodhya.

Yadav expressed concerns that the Constitution, democracy, and reservations are under threat under the BJP government. He claimed that there has been a scam involving 11,514 seats reserved for the PDA community in job allocations. He accused the government of closing schools to prevent the PDA community from becoming educated, noting that thousands of primary schools have already shut down. He also alleged a conspiracy against the Jawahar Ali University, claiming that papers for competitive exams are being leaked to deprive students and youth of job opportunities.

The Samajwadi Party leader also criticized the government over issues affecting tribal communities. He alleged that forests are being destroyed in Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, and Chandauli under the pretext of constructing the Vindhya Expressway, with tribal people being stripped of their land and forests. He pointed out the contradiction in the government’s claims of record tree planting while millions of trees are being cut down, labeling it as the BJP’s dual policy and character.

Yadav concluded that the public is fed up with the BJP government and that every section of society seeks to be rid of it. He accused the BJP of selling national assets and undermining the fundamental rights of citizens. He stated that students and youth have stepped forward in the fight to protect the Constitution, democracy, and reservations, which has left the BJP feeling anxious. Yadav assured that when a Samajwadi government is formed, justice will be served, and the state will prosper. He declared, “The public is awake, and the BJP is on the run.”
