Air India Suspends Flights to UAE, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Qatar Amid Rising Tensions

New Delhi, March 4: Air India has temporarily suspended most of its flights to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Qatar until March 4, prioritizing the safety of passengers and crew amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. The airline has assured affected travelers of refunds, free rescheduling, and alternative travel arrangements.

The decision comes as Air India monitors the deteriorating situation in the region. Only a few flights will operate, with a strong emphasis on ensuring the safety and well-being of passengers and crew.

Flights to North America, the UK, and Europe will continue as scheduled, rerouted over safer airspace in the Middle East, with safety being the top priority.

Air India expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers affected by the flight suspensions. The airline is prepared to offer alternative travel arrangements, full refunds, or free rescheduling options.

For assistance, Air India has provided contact numbers +911169329333 and +911169329999. Passengers are also advised to check the updated status of their flights on the official website.

Meanwhile, IndiGo Airlines has initiated services to evacuate people from the Middle East and the Persian Gulf. According to IndiGo, four flights are currently heading to Jeddah, with one flight expected to operate later in the day to Muscat.

IndiGo plans to increase the number of scheduled flights and seat capacity starting Wednesday. The airline will carefully plan its schedule to resume select flights, prioritizing safety.

Operations are expected to resume in the Middle East, including Muscat, Jeddah, and Medina, as well as in Europe, specifically Athens, depending on current airspace conditions and necessary approvals. A total of 13 return flights (26 sectors) are planned.
