Air Ambulance Aids 21-Year-Old Kirti’s Treatment in Madhya Pradesh

Dindori: A 21-year-old woman from Dindori district, Kirti (Preeti) Chandel, suffering from a serious illness, has been flown to AIIMS Bhopal for advanced medical treatment under the Prime Minister Shri Air Ambulance scheme. The Madhya Pradesh government’s swift and sensitive intervention highlights its commitment to providing timely healthcare to patients in remote areas.

Kirti had earlier undergone tumour treatment at AIIMS Raipur, but the growth reappeared, leading to severe complications that rendered both her legs immobile. She was admitted to the Dindori District Hospital, where doctors recommended immediate specialised care.

Dr Manoj Pandey, Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) of Dindori, stated that the tumour’s recurrence had seriously affected Kirti’s legs. He confirmed that she was referred to AIIMS Bhopal and that the government arranged the Prime Minister Shri Air Ambulance service to ensure her prompt transfer. Coordination with doctors at AIIMS Bhopal was completed in advance to begin treatment immediately upon her arrival.

Kirti was transported by ambulance from the district hospital to the police lines helipad under the supervision of Dindori Collector Anju Pawan Bhadauria. After completing all formalities, she was airlifted to Bhopal. Upon reaching Bhopal, Kirti will be taken directly to AIIMS by a 108 ambulance from the helipad.

The availability of the air ambulance brought relief to Kirti’s family. Her father, Heeralal Chandel, expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav for the facility. He said that earlier treatment at AIIMS Raipur had not provided sufficient relief, but the air ambulance arrangement from Dindori was a great support.

Kirti’s brother, Kamlesh Kumar, added that her treatment had been ongoing for six months and that the air ambulance service would greatly ease their difficulties. He too thanked the Prime Minister and Chief Minister for their assistance.

Dr Manoj Pandey also mentioned that Kirti holds an Ayushman card, ensuring her treatment at AIIMS Bhopal will be completely free of cost. Collector Anju Pawan Bhadauria noted that the Chief Minister has launched the Prime Minister Shri Air Ambulance service to provide quick and quality healthcare to people in remote districts. Kirti’s transfer to AIIMS Bhopal is one of the early successes of this initiative.
