Mumbai, March 17: The song “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke” from the film “KD: The Devil” is embroiled in controversy. Major organizations within the film industry are now voicing their opposition. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has taken a firm stance, demanding an immediate ban on the song.
AICWA has sent an official letter to Prasoon Joshi, the Chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification. In this letter, they expressed strong objections to the song, claiming it contains vulgar and double-meaning content that tarnishes the image of Indian cinema. Such content should not be accepted under any circumstances.
The AICWA has also appealed to the government for intervention. They have urged Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to establish strict regulations to curb the rising vulgar content in films and songs. They believe that if this issue is not addressed promptly, it could negatively impact society, particularly the youth.
In their demands, the association has called for the song to be removed from all platforms and for a complete ban to be enforced. They also requested that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) re-evaluate the film. Additionally, they have called for an FIR to be filed against the producer and those associated with the song.
AICWA has raised concerns that this controversy may have been deliberately orchestrated for publicity, and they have called for an investigation into the matter.
The controversy began as soon as the song was released, which features Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt. The lyrics, penned by Rakib Alam, have been labeled vulgar by users on social media. The situation escalated further when the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) issued a notice regarding the issue. Moreover, lawyer Vineet Jindal has filed a complaint against the song, demanding its ban.
