Aga Syed Ruhullahs Office Launches Sharp Attack on National Conference Amid Ongoing War of Words

Tensions rise in Jammu and Kashmir as Aga Syed Ruhullahs office criticizes the National Conference for failing to uphold electoral promises.

Srinagar, November 3 (Daily Kiran) : The verbal clash between the National Conference (NC) and MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi has intensified in Jammu and Kashmir. Ruhullah’s office recently issued a statement on the social media platform X, sharply criticizing the NC leadership. The statement accused the party of backtracking on its electoral promises and misleading the public regarding the restoration of Article 370.

In response to a recent NC statement, Ruhullah’s office suggested that the party is more upset with those reminding it of its commitments than with those who have stripped away Jammu and Kashmir’s rights. The office emphasized that the NC only displays courage when questioned directly.

The statement referenced the Quran, noting that it was first mentioned by the NC president, to which Ruhullah had responded. The office claimed that the party is now irritated by Ruhullah’s rebuttal, as it has made the leadership uncomfortable.

Ruhullah’s office pointed out that while he vacated his seat, NC leaders seem more focused on preserving their positions than honoring their commitments. The statement recalled events from 2010, highlighting that Ruhullah was part of the government then and accepted his responsibilities. It questioned where the former chief minister‘s acknowledgment of accountability is.

On the issue of Article 370, the office questioned whether NC leaders have actually listened to Ruhullah’s speeches in Parliament, or if their understanding is limited to statements that please the party leadership. The statement also challenged the NC’s shift in narrative after the elections, questioning why they now claim that those who removed Article 370 will not restore it.

The office further criticized the NC regarding reservation issues, recalling that Ruhullah had joined student protests outside the Chief Minister’s residence in December 2024. It accused the party of being aware of this but continuing to target him.

The NC had promised to resolve discrepancies related to reservations, yet now only references a committee and pending files. Ruhullah’s office urged the party to disclose details about decisions, timelines, and proposals so that students can understand what has been suggested and what remains unresolved.

Questioning the party’s political strategy, the office remarked on the absurdity of NC leaders presenting shawls in Delhi while claiming to restore Jammu and Kashmir’s rights. It asserted that instead of objecting to Ruhullah’s language, the NC should address its electoral promises.

The statement concluded by asserting that Aga Syed Ruhullah’s political existence is not a favor from any leader, as votes and seats belong to the public. It accused the NC leadership of treating public office as a legacy and viewing those who raise questions as ungrateful.

In a final jab, Ruhullah’s office noted that he returned the seat the NC has repeatedly used against him. It also made a pointed remark about the NC leadership’s connections to Britain, suggesting that their British supporter should prepare to return to London, as they would cover the first-class ticket costs.

Tensions continue to rise as both sides navigate this contentious political landscape.
