Congress Leader Criticizes BJPs Tactics to Dismiss Voter Concerns in Telangana
Telangana Congress leader Kota Neelima accuses BJP of using fear tactics to undermine voter concerns during the Special Intensive Review.

Hyderabad, November 3 (Daily Kiran) : Dr. Kota Neelima, Vice President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), has raised concerns about the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) recent campaign aimed at intimidating citizens and labeling them as anti-national. She argues this strategy is an attempt to conceal serious discrepancies in the Special Intensive Review (SIR) of the electoral rolls.
Speaking in Hyderabad, Neelima referenced the “Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy” campaign launched by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. She stated that the campaign fails to address genuine citizen concerns regarding the SIR process and instead targets those who question it.
In her statement, Neelima criticized the BJP’s approach, saying, “In their typical arrogant style, the BJP is trying to label anyone questioning the SIR as anti-national. This is a calculated effort to intimidate citizens, political parties, and leaders who have raised legitimate objections to the SIR process with substantial evidence.”
Neelima participated in a rally in Delhi on Sunday titled “Save Your Vote, Save the Country.” She noted that the overwhelming public response has left the BJP anxious. “Millions gathered at Ram Leela Maidan for this historic rally, causing deep concern for the BJP. In response, Amit Shah conducted a small march in Hyderabad, blaming citizens fighting for their voting rights,” she added.
The TPCC leader highlighted that during the Congress-led march against “vote theft” on November 1, supporters from across the country gathered, with over 20 opposition parties uniting in solidarity. Prominent leaders, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi, led the rally alongside leaders from various parties within the India bloc, such as the SP, RJD, TMC, and NCP.
The united opposition emphasized that removing the names of over 13 crore voters, approximately 14 percent of the country’s population, is a direct attack on democracy, effectively stripping people of their right to vote.
