New Delhi, March 1: Amid ongoing severe conflict in the Middle East, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued an advisory for foreign nationals on Sunday. Due to the current situation affecting travel plans, individuals are advised to contact the nearest Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) for visa extensions or regularization.
The advisory states, “All foreign nationals in India who have had to alter their travel plans due to events in West Asia and require assistance with visa extensions or regularizing their stay are requested to reach out to the nearest FRRO. The relevant FRRO will assist with the necessary formalities.”
This advisory comes at a time when the geopolitical situation in the Middle East remains unstable due to recent military strikes and escalating tensions, impacting international travel and visa arrangements for many visitors and residents.

In Abu Dhabi, the Indian embassy advised, “Given the current conditions in the region, all Indian citizens in the UAE are advised to avoid non-essential travel, remain vigilant, and adhere to security guidelines and advisories issued by UAE authorities and the embassy.”
The Indian embassy stated, “The Indian embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai are operating normally and will provide updates as necessary. For any emergency inquiries, Indian nationals in the UAE can contact the toll-free number 800-46342 and WhatsApp number +971543090571.”
