
Lucknow, April 4: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has requested reports from district magistrates regarding the difficulties faced by farmers due to unseasonal rainfall in several districts on Saturday.
CM Yogi emphasized the need to minimize the impact of disasters on farmers. He instructed that compensation for loss of life, livestock, and injuries must be ensured within 24 hours. Any negligence will not be tolerated. The Chief Minister directed officials to remain on high alert. He urged them to assess the damage to crops caused by the weather and gather complete information to provide timely relief. The revenue, agriculture department, and insurance companies must conduct a joint survey of crop losses and inform the government, enabling immediate compensation for farmers.
He stated that the government stands with the people of the state in all adverse situations. Continuous rainfall has affected farmers’ crops, and compensation for the damaged crops is being arranged. The assessment of losses due to Saturday’s rainfall should be expedited.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to work sensitively in the interest of farmers and ensure that no difficulties arise for them. He directed all district magistrates to remain in the field, assess the situation, and conduct a realistic evaluation of crop damage in affected areas, ensuring timely assistance for farmers.
He also advised the principal secretary (agriculture) and the relief commissioner to maintain direct contact with field officers and coordinate effectively. All information should be collected promptly and provided to the government to facilitate timely relief efforts. Farmers are encouraged to report their crop losses to the government/administration. Those who have insured their crops and suffered damage can report their issues within 72 hours by calling the toll-free number 14447.
