Mumbai, September 23 (Daily Kiran) : Nilesh Ojha, the lawyer representing Satish Salian, has raised serious concerns regarding the response from Aditya Thackeray to a defamation notice related to the Disha Salian case. Ojha labeled Thackeray’s reply as “misleading and factually incorrect.” He pointed out that after the High Court dismissed an earlier petition, Thackeray’s silence on the first notice and his vague response to the second have raised numerous questions.
Ojha stated, “He did not respond to the first notice because the High Court dismissed his entire petition, leaving him with nothing to say. It is perplexing that he remained silent on the first notice but is now responding to the second. His recent reply mirrors the situation the High Court described regarding the Malwani police, indicating it raises even more questions.”
In his defense, Thackeray claimed he did not know Disha Salian and that his post was not intended to defame Satish Salian. He suggested that his statements were misinterpreted by politically motivated individuals, asserting his right to defend himself.
Ojha acknowledged Thackeray’s right to defend himself but emphasized that he must present evidence. “He has not addressed any of the issues; his response is merely a play on words,” Ojha remarked.
He further questioned Thackeray’s assertion that the case is politically motivated, reminding him that he had previously raised this objection in court to prevent an FIR and to stop the CBI from being involved. The High Court rejected this objection, finding merit in Ojha’s arguments, which led to the order for an FIR.
Ojha continued, “You have yet to disclose your mobile tower location from that day. We have been asking this from the start. Even individuals not politically affiliated, like Prakash Ambedkar, have inquired about your whereabouts. As a minister with government bodyguards, your movements are recorded. Please provide your mobile tower location.”
He noted that there has been no response to this inquiry. Additionally, Ojha mentioned that Thackeray’s involvement in drug-related activities, referenced in the Narcotics Bureau’s case number 15/2020, has not been addressed in his reply, despite being a crucial aspect of the allegations.
Ojha concluded by reiterating that the issues raised are significant and require thorough answers from Thackeray.
