
Mumbai: Actress Ada Sharma emphasises the importance of paying attention to mental health along with physical fitness. She points out that mental well-being is often overlooked, leading to serious consequences. According to her, the brain also needs regular exercise, and she practices some mental workouts herself.
In today’s fast-paced life, mental health has become a major concern with issues like stress, anxiety, and depression becoming common. Experts also recommend practices such as meditation, yoga, puzzles, and brain exercises to keep the mind healthy.
In an exclusive conversation with a news agency, Ada Sharma discussed the significance of mental health openly. While many focus on going to the gym to keep their bodies fit, she stressed that mental health should not be ignored. She said good health is not just about physical fitness but mental health is equally essential.
Ada Sharma shared, “Health is very important. Without good health, you cannot work effectively. But it is crucial to understand that physical health alone is not enough. To maintain physical fitness, your mental health must also be strong. Usually, people focus only on physical health. I believe that just as much attention is given to physical fitness, mental health should also receive equal care. The brain needs workouts too.”
Referring to her Instagram posts on health, she mentioned sharing several brain teasers that challenge and benefit the mind. She gave examples like tapping one hand slowly and the other quickly, or moving one hand in circles while the other draws a square. These exercises activate both the left and right sides of the brain.
The actress believes keeping the brain strong is crucial for success in life. She advises everyone to regularly challenge their brain to keep it healthy. Many simple exercises can be done at home without any cost.
Known for her role in ‘The Kerala Story,’ Ada explained in simple terms, “The body has muscles like biceps, triceps, and hamstrings. You work on every muscle. If you only build your biceps but neglect your hamstrings, an injury to the hamstring makes the strength of the biceps useless. Similarly, you must work on your brain as well.”
