Mumbai, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : Actress Sandipa Dhar is thrilled with the positive response to her performance in the recently released OTT series “Chumbak.” Reflecting on her first encounter with director Atish Kapadia, she described the experience as truly special.
During a promotional event in Mumbai’s BKC area, Sandipa spoke with co-stars Sumit Vyas, Sumit Raghavan, Neena Gupta, and Mansi Parekh about the series and her experiences.
Recalling her initial narration, Sandipa noted that Kapadia portrayed each character himself while telling the story. She was amazed as he seamlessly shifted from one character to another, altering his voice, speech patterns, and gestures.
“It was astonishing for me,” Sandipa recalled. “When he narrated the story, he embodied all the characters. His voice and tone completely transformed with each role, and he even mimicked their expressions. In just about five minutes, he showcased everything.”
She added, “He had even prepared background music. I was just watching him, thinking, ‘Oh my God, who is this person?'”
Sandipa revealed that she had not worked with Atish Kapadia before this project. However, listening to his narration sparked her desire to collaborate with him and learn from his expertise.
After reading the script, her excitement only grew. “I couldn’t stop laughing while reading it. It was so entertaining. I think it reflects Atish Kapadia’s intelligence, humor, and creative style,” she commented.
She expressed her willingness to take on any role in the series, stating, “I believe every actor dreams of working in a setup like this. Even if I didn’t get the role of Kiran, I would have accepted any other part. The experience was fantastic.”
Alongside Sandipa Dhar, “Chumbak” features significant performances from Sumit Vyas, Sumit Raghavan, Neena Gupta, and Mansi Parekh. The series is currently streaming on Netflix.
