Mukesh Khanna Discusses Upcoming Film Vishwaguru as a Significant Project

Mumbai, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : Actor Mukesh Khanna recently expressed his enthusiasm for his upcoming film, “Vishwaguru.” He revealed that the film’s subject matter captivated him, prompting his decision to join the project. Khanna believes this film could become a significant milestone in his career, particularly following his role in Dev Anand’s film “Censor.”

In an interview, Khanna shared that he was drawn to the film’s theme from the outset. After several discussions with the producers, he ultimately agreed to participate. “I liked the subject, and I found the story compelling. They were right; we had three meetings before finalizing things,” he said.

Khanna recounted how the filmmakers approached him multiple times before he committed to the project. “They sat at my table three times, going in and out, before finally convincing me,” he explained, highlighting the persistence of the filmmakers.

The actor also noted that he was informed he would need to speak in Hindi for the film. After considering the topic, he agreed. “They told me I had to speak Hindi in this film, and I said, ‘Okay, no problem,’ because the subject is…” Khanna stated.

He emphasized the significance of this project for him, mentioning that he does not frequently take on film roles. “I rarely do films, and I openly say that perhaps after ‘Censor,’ this will be my next big film. People are waiting for me, so I took this project because I liked the subject,” he added.

In “Censor,” released in 2001, Khanna portrayed an Indian Army officer. He is well-known for his iconic roles as Shaktimaan and Bhishma Pitamah.

Directed by Shailesh Bogani and Atul Sonar, “Vishwaguru” tells the story of a foreign group that attacks India through deceit and force. The narrative explores how spiritual knowledge becomes India’s strength and highlights the country’s role as a global teacher.
