Mumbai, August 7: A significant movement is underway in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, concerning alleged paper leaks and irregularities in competitive exams like JPSC and JSSC. In this context, actress Kunika Sadanand has publicly expressed her support for the students. On Friday, she took to social media to urge the government to listen to the students’ voices.
Kunika shared a photo on Instagram, empathizing with the students’ struggles and calling for reforms in the examination system. She also mentioned her plans to visit Jharkhand soon to support the students, although she did not specify a date for her visit.
In her post, she stated, “The students of Jharkhand are merely advocating for their rights. Their voices should be heard, not suppressed. I am coming to meet them, to listen to their pain, stand with them, and amplify their voices. When the youth speak, the future of our nation speaks.”
Several celebrities, including Sonakshi Sinha and Imran Khan, have also shown their support for the Jharkhand student protests.
The protests, led by student leader Devendranath Mahto, demand a CBI investigation, public disclosure of OMR sheets, and improvements in the examination system. Thousands of students are currently on an indefinite hunger strike at the Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi.
Students argue that ongoing discrepancies in recruitment exams are jeopardizing their futures, urging the government to take decisive action. This movement has been inspired by the protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, with students organizing various events throughout the demonstrations. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has assured that the government is aware of the students’ concerns and will not allow any injustice. An investigation is ongoing, and clarity on the situation is expected soon.
