Mumbai, August 7: Renowned TV host and actress Mini Mathur is currently in the spotlight as the winner of the web reality show ‘The Alliance.’ In a recent interview, she discussed the distinction between smart gameplay and dirty tactics in reality shows.
Mathur believes that manipulation is somewhat inherent in such shows. She noted that players often attempt to undermine others’ games as part of their strategy. If this approach benefits one’s own strategy, it can be considered part of the game. However, she does not support personal attacks.
She emphasized that disrespecting someone’s gender is unacceptable. Yelling just to create a negative atmosphere is also inappropriate. Playing strategically and belittling others are two very different things. There is a fine line between the two. She hopes her victory sends a message to future reality shows that winning does not require playing dirty. One can be direct, clever, strategic, and even manipulative within the rules of the game. A woman over fifty can still defeat contestants half her age.
Mathur also shared her thoughts on Kushal Tandon’s behavior, stating that he is genuine and behaves the same way on and off-camera. This authenticity is likely what his fans appreciate. She mentioned, “I never felt he was performing for the cameras. He communicates the same way in real life. Although I advised him several times to tone down his aggression, he believes his audience likes him just as he is.”
The actress praised Tandon for his loyalty throughout the show, standing by the same people from the beginning to the end. She expressed, “He respected me throughout the show, which is why I have nothing negative to say about Kushal Tandon.”
When asked if she would participate in another reality show, Mathur declined, stating that she has several projects lined up that will keep her busy.
She revealed, “I am starting a business focused on women’s health this year, and that is my priority. I’m not sure if I can commit to another reality show, but this journey has taught me one thing: never say never.”
