In this context, singers have significantly contributed to elevating Bollywood to new heights. One such popular singer is Akriti Kakkar, a renowned Indian playback singer and musician.
Akriti Kakkar is primarily known for her energetic and popular songs in Bollywood films. She gained fame for hit tracks like “Saturday Saturday” from ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ and “Iski Uski” from ‘2 States,’ which continue to be favorites at parties. In addition to Hindi songs, Akriti is also celebrated for her Bengali music.
Born on August 7, 1986, in New Delhi to a music-loving family, her father is Sanjeev Kakkar and her mother, Nirmal Kakkar, is also a music enthusiast. Akriti’s mother holds a postgraduate degree in music from Delhi University. Akriti has two twin sisters, Sukriti Kakkar and Prakriti Kakkar, who are also well-known singers in the industry.
Akriti received her initial training in classical music from her mother. She began participating in singing competitions at a young age and made her mark in 1999 on the Zee TV show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.’
She made her Bollywood debut as a playback singer with the song “Chham Se Wo Aa Jaye” from the 2004 film ‘DAS.’ Since then, she has lent her voice to several hit songs in Hindi films, including “Dil Vich Lagya Ve,” “Johnny Gaddaar,” “Dekhun Tujhe To Pyaar Aaye,” and “Khudaaya Khair.”
In addition to her work in music, Akriti has served as a judge on various singing reality shows. She married director Chirag Arora in 2016, and they have a son together.
