Actor Raza Murad Remembers Filming Hina with Kiran Kumar

Mumbai, June 27: Veteran Hindi cinema actor Raza Murad reminisced about the filming of the movie ‘Hina,’ which was released on June 28, 1991. He shared nostalgic photos with his longtime friend Kiran Kumar, with whom he studied at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII).

Raza posted a picture taken during the shooting of ‘Hina’ alongside Kiran Kumar. He reflected on the characters, the outdoor shoots in Manali, and the direction of the film by Raj Kapoor.

In his caption, Raza wrote, “With my friend of 57 years, Kiran Kumar. We were batchmates at the Pune Film and Television Institute of India from 1969 to 1971. We have worked together on several films, including ‘Hina’ (1991).”

He noted that the photo was captured during the film’s shooting in Manali. Raza Murad portrayed a dangerous villain, corrupt Pakistani police officer Shahbaz Khan, who takes the entire village hostage to forcefully marry Hina (played by Zeba Bakhtiar). He fondly recalled, “I have many wonderful memories from this outdoor shoot.”

Directed by Randhir Kapoor, ‘Hina’ featured Rishi Kapoor alongside Pakistani actress Zeba Bakhtiar and Ashwini Bhave. The film was initially conceptualized and started by Raj Kapoor, but after his passing before filming commenced, it was completed by his son Randhir.

The story revolves around an Indian man who suffers from amnesia after falling into a river and ends up in Pakistan. The villagers take him in, but a tragic event occurs when his memory returns.

At 75, Raza Murad has showcased his remarkable acting talent in films such as ‘Prem Rog,’ ‘Hina,’ ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili,’ ‘Khuda-Daar,’ ‘Ram Lakhan,’ ‘Tridev,’ ‘Pyar Ka Mandir,’ ‘Aankhen,’ ‘Mohra,’ ‘Gupt,’ ‘Ek Hi Raasta,’ ‘Jodhaa Akbar,’ and TV series like ‘Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon’ and ‘Padmaavat.’
