New Delhi, May 31: The government is hosting the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ event every Sunday under the Fit India Movement to raise fitness awareness across the country. The 76th edition took place at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium this past Sunday.
Fit India Director Sushant Kandwal emphasized that the initiative aims to inspire youth about fitness. He stated, “We want all young people to dedicate at least half an hour each day to their fitness.” Speaking about the event, he noted, “As you can see, our 76th edition is happening here at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, and nearly a thousand people participated today. We are thrilled that most attendees came in person. This indicates that not only did we achieve full online registration, but the number of walk-ins has also significantly increased. It shows that the Fit India Movement has spread a strong message among the youth, which is very inspiring for us.”
He further added, “We strive to motivate young individuals to allocate at least half an hour daily for their fitness and health. Through this initiative, we gather people to engage in various fitness activities, including cycling, yoga, and Zumba. I hope this habit extends beyond Sundays, encouraging everyone to prioritize their fitness daily to maintain good health.”
The ‘Sunday on Cycle’ event saw enthusiastic participation from the community. The stadium also hosted vibrant cultural programs. This initiative invites people from various societal backgrounds every Sunday, delivering a message to prioritize fitness.
