Pune, September 1: A serious incident has emerged from the Shri Ambru Naik Secondary Ashram School located in Nagarala, Jivati Tehsil, Chandrapur district, Maharashtra. Shortly after consuming their meal, students began to exhibit symptoms of illness.
The students complained of nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and dizziness soon after eating. A total of 31 students were hospitalized for treatment. Following the incident, there has been significant outrage among parents and villagers directed at the school administration.
On Tuesday afternoon, around 2:30 PM, students were served their meal. Allegations have surfaced that a lizard fell into the food during preparation, yet it was not addressed, and the contaminated meal was served to the students. Shortly after eating, the students’ health deteriorated, prompting a panic among school officials.
The affected students were immediately taken to the primary health center in Jivati for treatment. However, due to inadequate medical facilities, they were referred to the sub-district rural hospital in Rajura, where they continue to receive care.
According to medical officials, all hospitalized students are currently reported to be in stable condition and are under the supervision of doctors. This incident has raised serious questions regarding the operational practices of the school administration, leading to considerable anger among parents.
Parents have accused the school administration of negligence, stating that the lives of innocent students could have been endangered. They are demanding a fair investigation into the matter and strict action against the responsible staff and management. Currently, both the education department and police are investigating the case.
