Speaking of ‘Chitchor,’ the film was directed by Basu Chatterjee and was based on a story by Bengali author Subodh Ghosh. It beautifully depicted simplicity, family relationships, and love.

The plot revolves around a family that arranges a marriage for their daughter with a young engineer. However, due to a misunderstanding, the family mistakenly believes another young man is the engineer. During this time, love blossoms between the girl and the young man. A letter later brings a significant twist to the story, leading to several emotional events. The film featured stellar performances by Amol Palekar, Vijayendra Ghatge, A.K. Hangal, Dina Pathak, and many others.

As for Master Raju, whose real name is Raju Shresth, he began his film career at a very young age. He acted in several memorable films, including ‘Amar Prem,’ ‘Bawarchi,’ ‘Parichay,’ ‘Daag,’ ‘Abhiman,’ ‘Deewar,’ ‘Chitchor,’ ‘Kitaab,’ and ‘Khatta Meetha,’ gradually becoming a beloved figure among audiences. Over his long career, he has worked in nearly 200 films and numerous television series.
