Young Yoga Prodigy Vanya Sharma Shines at UYSF Asia Pacific Championship, Qualifies for World Cup

New Delhi, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : Eight-year-old Vanya Sharma has made a remarkable mark in the world of yoga, representing India with pride. Hailing from Rohini Sector 22 in New Delhi, Vanya clinched two gold medals at the fourth UYSF Asia Pacific Yoga Sports Championship held in Bangkok.

In addition to her gold medals, Vanya also secured the prestigious “Champion of Champions” trophy. She has qualified for the upcoming UYSF World Cup scheduled for December this year. Speaking about her journey, Vanya shared that she has been practicing yoga since the age of two and has set 20 world records to date. Her daily routine includes two hours of yoga practice.

The championship featured participants from several countries, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Malaysia. Vanya competed in the 6 to 8-year age category, showcasing her skills against formidable opponents. Her father and coach, Hemant Sharma, emphasized Vanya’s exceptional performance, particularly in the “Champion of Champions” category, where she triumphed over older competitors.

Hemant mentioned that Vanya practices yoga daily from 4 PM to 6 PM, focusing on various asanas and warm-up exercises. He expressed hope that when yoga is included in the Olympic Games, Vanya will be part of the Indian team. Vanya has previously excelled in multiple tournaments, establishing herself as a rising star in the sport.
