New Delhi, March 9: A young man was murdered with a sharp weapon late Sunday night in the Seemapuri area of Northeast Delhi, while his companion sustained serious injuries. Upon receiving the report, police arrived at the scene and sent the body for autopsy. The injured individual has been admitted to the hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Rafiqul. Reports indicate that he was standing outside a local butcher shop with a friend when a group of unidentified assailants suddenly attacked them with a sharp weapon. Rafiqul fell severely injured at the scene, while his companion was also badly hurt. The attackers fled the area immediately after the incident.
Seemapuri police arrived promptly and rushed the injured young man to the hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. Meanwhile, Rafiqul’s body has been taken into custody for a postmortem examination. The incident has caused panic in the neighborhood. Local residents claim that Rafiqul had a history of substance abuse and had previously argued with drug dealers, raising suspicions that the attack may have been motivated by this rivalry.
Rafiqul’s brother stated that he was informed by someone that his brother had been hospitalized, prompting him to rush there. Unfortunately, by the time he arrived, Rafiqul had already succumbed to his injuries.
Another witness reported that around 8 PM on Sunday, an individual attempted to rob Rafiqul. Following this, he was initially beaten with sticks, and when bystanders intervened, he was stabbed, leading to his serious injuries. The assailant who stabbed Rafiqul took him to the hospital but fled afterward. Police arrested the suspect on Monday morning.
