Lucknow, July 10: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has faced sharp criticism from Samajwadi Party MP Avadhesh Prasad regarding his recent statements on Hanumangarhi, the Ram Temple, and the Samajwadi Party. Prasad accused the Chief Minister of diverting attention from public issues and remaining silent on alleged irregularities related to donations for the Ram Temple.
During a visit to his constituency, where he has been elected seven times and served as a minister five times, Adityanath did not address the ongoing discussions about the alleged donation scam linked to the Ram Temple. This matter, which concerns the faith of millions of devotees, has become a topic of significant concern. Questions regarding the donations, including gold, silver, cash, and land, have emerged, yet the Chief Minister has refrained from commenting, leading to speculation that he may be under pressure.
Prasad further alleged that the Chief Minister has also ignored critical issues such as fertilizer shortages for farmers, paper leaks affecting youth, rising inflation, education, health, and road conditions. With the paddy planting season underway, farmers are struggling to obtain fertilizer. Meanwhile, competitive exam paper leaks are rampant, inflation is rising, and the cost of domestic gas cylinders is troubling the public, yet the government remains silent. Prasad stated that the BJP has no new issues to present, prompting them to revisit old controversies. He expressed concern over the upcoming 2027 assembly elections and the growing popularity of Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, predicting a historic defeat for the BJP.
Regarding the SIT investigation into the Ram Temple donation case, Prasad expressed skepticism about its integrity. He called for an independent high-level investigation team to be formed under the Supreme Court‘s supervision to ensure a fair inquiry. He also demanded that the Ram Temple Trust be dissolved until the investigation concludes, preventing any trust member from influencing the process.
Prasad supported Akhilesh Yadav’s statement that “Sanatan is Socialism.” He claimed that the BJP lacks genuine political issues, and Yadav’s assertions reflect a consistent political ethos. In contrast, he argued that the BJP’s actions do not align with its claims.
On the recent attacks by Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati against Congress and the Samajwadi Party, Prasad expressed disappointment that she is not speaking freely. He suggested that Mayawati is operating under external pressure, and her statements do not reflect her true convictions but rather the influence of others.
