
Tokyo, February 25: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has embarked on a mission to position the state as a future economic hub during his visit to Japan. On the first day of his trip, he initiated a global investment dialogue upon arriving in Tokyo. He met with executives from Mitsui & Co., a leading global trading and investment company, to formally invite them to explore transformative investment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted investment prospects in four key sectors. The first is renewable energy, focusing on solar, bio-energy, green hydrogen, and energy storage projects. The second sector discussed was Information and Communication Technology (ICT), which includes IT parks, electronics manufacturing, digital services, and the startup ecosystem. The third area of interest was semiconductors, particularly chip manufacturing and the expansion of the electronics value chain. Lastly, the fourth sector involved data centers, with in-depth discussions on hyper-scale data centers, cloud infrastructure, and digital connectivity hubs.
Chief Minister Adityanath extended an invitation for long-term partnerships with Mitsui’s management, emphasizing Uttar Pradesh’s commitment to strengthening India-Japan economic cooperation at the grassroots level. He noted that Uttar Pradesh, being the largest consumer market in the country, offers an extremely favorable environment for investors due to its excellent connectivity, dedicated freight corridors, expressway network, and rapidly developing industrial clusters. He reassured investors that the state government provides a secure, transparent, and results-oriented atmosphere, supported by industry-friendly policies, a single-window clearance system, and timely approval processes.
Upon his arrival in Tokyo, Chief Minister Adityanath received a grand welcome, marking his first visit to Japan. This trip signifies a significant achievement in enhancing the growing strategic and cultural ties between India and Japan. The Chief Minister’s official visit spans two days.
