Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its new 17 series smartphones globally, including the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro models. Both devices were spotted on the IMEI database last October. Recently, key specifications of the standard Xiaomi 17T have been uncovered from the latest HyperOS codebase.
The smartphone is listed under the codename “P12A” in the system files. One of the most notable features is its large 6,500mAh battery, marking a significant increase from the 5,500mAh battery found in last year’s Xiaomi 15T. Despite the bigger battery, the charging speed remains unchanged at 67W.
In terms of camera capabilities, the Xiaomi 17T will sport a triple rear camera setup. The main sensor is an OmniVision OV50E, supported by an OmniVision OV13B sensor and a Samsung ISOCELL JN5 sensor, which are likely responsible for ultra-wide and telephoto functions. For selfies, the phone will include a Samsung ISOCELL S5KKDS front camera.
For reference, last year’s Xiaomi 15T featured a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main camera, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera, along with a 32MP front camera.
Powering the Xiaomi 17T is expected to be the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset. This processor comes with a MediaTek NPU designed to support generative and agentic AI features. The same chipset was recently introduced and is already in use on the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, indicating solid performance capabilities.
February Launch Likely for Xiaomi 17T Series
The Xiaomi 17T Pro appeared in the IMEI database alongside the 17T back in October 2025, suggesting a possible launch in February 2026. This would mark a change from Xiaomi’s usual September release schedule for its T-series smartphones.
