Xi Jinping Responds to Students Letters in China-U.S. Friendship Program

Beijing, May 28: Chinese President Xi Jinping has responded to letters from students participating in the “Shared Journey of Friendship between China and America” program.

Xi expressed his delight at learning that students from both nations have embarked on an unforgettable journey of friendship. He emphasized that the story of China-U.S. friendship is written by the people, and the future of China-U.S. relations is shaped by the youth.

Since the initiative launched in November 2023, which aims to invite 50,000 American youths to China for exchange and study, over 50,000 American students have visited China, achieving the target two and a half years ahead of schedule. Through these exchanges, young people from both countries have traveled to each other’s nations, deepening mutual understanding and strengthening friendships, thus writing a new chapter in friendly exchanges between the two peoples.

Xi noted that the vibrant and dream-filled youth represent not only the future and hope of China-U.S. relations but also of the world. He expressed hope that more young people from both countries will carry the torch of friendship, learn from one another, progress together, and become “ambassadors of friendship” across the Pacific, contributing to the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations.
