Washington, April 5: The White House has dismissed rumors circulating on social media regarding President Donald Trump’s hospitalization. Officials labeled these claims as false.
The speculation began when the White House announced a travel and photo lid at 11 AM (ET) on Saturday, indicating that there would be no public appearances by the President that day.
Posts on the social media platform X claimed that Trump had been taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, fueled further by a viral motorcade video.
However, fact-checking and subsequent reports revealed that the video in question was from 2024, showing Trump leaving a hospital in Butler, Pennsylvania, after being injured in a shooting.
Steven Chung, the White House Communications Director, refuted these claims, stating that the President’s schedule remains normal.
He wrote on X, “No President has worked harder than Trump. He has been consistently working in the White House and Oval Office even during this Easter weekend.”
A journalist reporting from Walter Reed also noted that there was no Marine One present, no motorcade, and the roads were open.
CBS News reporter Emma Nicholson posted, “At 1:50 PM, a Marine sentry stood at the West Wing door, indicating that the President was inside working.”
Typically, the presence of a Marine sentry at the West Wing entrance signifies that the President is in the building and engaged in work.
In recent years, misinformation regarding presidential activities has rapidly spread across digital platforms, often necessitating official clarifications.
