Mumbai, April 16: Madhushah, known for her roles in films like “Phool Aur Kaante” and “Diljale,” once shared the screen with Ajay Devgn in a remarkable romance. However, she has since stepped away from the limelight. The actress frequently shares nostalgic romantic songs from her past films on social media, but she hasn’t garnered the same popularity as other actresses from the 90s.
Madhushah was one of the stunning actresses of the 90s, carving a niche for herself in both Hindi and South Indian cinema through her hard work. She began her career with the Tamil film “Azhagan,” followed by a role in “Gentleman.” She has appeared in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada films, but her greatest success came in Hindi cinema. Her debut Hindi film, “Phool Aur Kaante,” alongside Ajay Devgn, catapulted her to fame overnight.
The film “Roja,” released in 1992, marked a turning point in her career. Directed by Mani Ratnam, her performance received widespread acclaim, leading to roles in films like “Elan,” “Pehchaan,” “Hum Hain Bemisaal,” “Jaalim,” and “Diljale.” In “Diljale,” Ajay Devgn played Shaka while she portrayed Shabnam, and their on-screen chemistry was electrifying. However, in search of meaningful roles, she chose to work selectively and gradually distanced herself from cinema.
After a long hiatus, Madhushah made a comeback in 2023 with the film “Shakuntalam,” where she starred alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu. She was also seen in “Kartam Bhugtam” and the Telugu film “Eagle.” Despite her recent projects, she remains out of the spotlight but stays connected with fans by sharing her old romantic songs on social media. Recently, she shared the romantic song “Jab Jab Dekhun Tujhe” from the film “Udaan,” featuring Saif Ali Khan.
