PM Modi Expresses Condolences Over Kurnool Road Accident, Announces Compensation for Victims Families

New Delhi, April 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic road accident that occurred in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. He described the incident as extremely unfortunate and extended his condolences to the families of the deceased while wishing a swift recovery for the injured. The Prime Minister also announced compensation for the victims.

The Prime Minister’s Office shared a message on the social media platform X, stating, “The accident in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, is deeply saddening. I express my heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and pray for the quick recovery of the injured. Families of those who lost their lives will receive ₹2 lakh, and the injured will be given ₹50,000 from PMNRF.”

On Thursday, a devastating road accident in Kurnool left many families in shock. Eight people lost their lives, and around 10 to 12 others sustained injuries. The injured were promptly admitted to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.

The accident occurred near the Chilkaldona area of the Moinabad mandal. Reports indicate that a Bolero vehicle collided violently with a lorry. The impact was so severe that it caused immediate chaos at the scene, leaving the vehicle extensively damaged. Emergency services and police arrived quickly to assist and transported the injured to Emmiganur Hospital.

According to police reports, eight individuals died in the accident, while approximately 10 to 12 others were injured. It is reported that all the victims were pilgrims from Karnataka, who were returning after visiting the Moinabad temple when this tragic incident took place.
