West Bengal’s secondary examinations will commence on February 2, 2026. To assist students during this period, Kolkata Police have launched a dedicated helpline.
Students facing any difficulties can call the helpline at 9432610039, where police officials are ready to provide support. Assistance will be available even if a student forgets their admit card at home or arrives late at the exam centre.
In addition to the helpline, ambulances will be stationed on key roads in the city to quickly attend to any student who may fall ill during the exams and ensure prompt medical care.
The state government has also arranged for extra buses to operate in Kolkata and neighbouring districts throughout the exam period. For eight days, at least 20 additional buses will run on 15 different routes to help students and their parents reach exam centres on time without stress.
This yearβs secondary exams will run from February 2 to February 12, with exams scheduled on February 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, and 12. Each exam will begin at 10:45 am and conclude by 2:00 pm.
With heavy traffic often causing delays, these measures aim to reduce anxiety and ensure students can reach their exam centres punctually. Kolkata Police advise students to leave home early to avoid last-minute rushes.
A total of 9,71,340 candidates are registered for the exams this year, slightly up from 9,69,425 last year. The candidates include 4,26,733 boys, 5,44,606 girls, and one transgender student. The state has set up 2,682 exam centres, which include 945 main centres and 1,737 sub-centres.
