New Delhi, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : The weather in Delhi and the surrounding National Capital Region (NCR) has taken a notable turn. After several days of intense heat and humidity, residents are now enjoying cooler breezes during the mornings and evenings.
According to meteorological reports, snowfall in the mountains is impacting the plains, leading to a drop in temperatures. This change not only enhances the pleasantness of the weather but also contributes positively to air quality.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) recorded a maximum temperature of 32 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 22 degrees Celsius in Delhi on September 29. Humidity levels fluctuated between 75% and 85%, with partial cloud cover observed. For September 30, temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of 33 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 23 degrees.
As October approaches, a slight increase in temperatures may occur. From October 1 to 4, the maximum temperature is anticipated to hover around 34 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures will range from 24 to 25 degrees. However, humidity is expected to decrease, making the weather feel drier and more comfortable. The weather department has not issued any warnings for this period, although the possibility of strong winds and light rain cannot be ruled out.
The combination of strong winds and light rain has significantly reduced pollution levels. Data from the Delhi Pollution Control Committee and the Central Pollution Control Board indicate that the Air Quality Index (AQI) across various parts of Delhi has improved to the “satisfactory” to “good” category. In key areas, the AQI readings are as follows: Anand Vihar at 69, Ashok Vihar at 47, Aya Nagar at 60, Bawana at 66, Burari Crossing at 58, the Cantonment Area at 75, Chandni Chowk at 73, and the Commonwealth Sports Complex at 89.
In other NCR cities, air quality has also shown improvement. In Noida, Sector 125 recorded an AQI of 83, Sector 62 at 65, Sector 1 at 71, and Sector 116 at 79. Ghaziabad also reported satisfactory conditions, with Govindpuram achieving an impressive AQI of 30, while Indirapuram recorded 74, Loni at 57, and Sanjay Nagar at 42. However, some areas like Vasundhara (105), Ved Vihar-Loni (101), and Wave City (104) still fall within the “moderate” category.
