Mysuru, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Mysuru, Karnataka, where a private school bus ran over a one-and-a-half-year-old girl, resulting in her immediate death. The tragic event has left the entire village in mourning, with family members deeply distressed.
The accident occurred in the village of Nanjapura, located in the Hunsur taluk. The deceased girl has been identified as Latiksha, the daughter of Basavaraju and Kanchana. Reports indicate that the bus involved was operated by a private educational institution.
According to eyewitness accounts, Basavaraju’s older son, Tilak, had just returned home from school. As the school bus dropped him off, Basavaraju was assisting his son out of the vehicle, preparing to head home. At that moment, Latiksha was standing by the roadside.
It is alleged that the driver, Siddharaju, carelessly reversed the bus without checking for obstacles. Tragically, the bus wheel passed over the girl’s head, leading to her untimely death.
The scene quickly turned chaotic as screams echoed through the village. Relatives and villagers rushed to the site, but it was too late to save the child. Local police from Bilikere arrived shortly after receiving news of the incident. They arrested the driver, Siddharaju, on charges of negligent driving resulting in the child’s death. The case has been filed at the Bilikere police station.
Following the accident, the girl’s body was taken to the government hospital in Hunsur for a post-mortem examination. Outside the hospital, family members were seen grieving profoundly. Authorities have stated that an investigation is underway, and further action will be taken based on the findings regarding the driver’s negligence.
