Mumbai, May 10: Waris Pathan, the national spokesperson for the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has responded to the recent TCS case in Nashik and the appointment of Vijay as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. He emphasized that Muslims are facing increasing oppression.
Regarding the arrest of Nida Khan, the main accused in the Nashik TCS case, Pathan stated, “Our party has always aimed to stand with the innocent and the victims. If Nida Khan were a Hindu sister, we would consider her innocent. I have always supported the innocent and the law.”
Pathan further asserted, “I believe everyone should adhere to the law. Nida Khan has now been arrested, and the case is under consideration. Do you know what the law states? A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty by the court. Until a verdict is delivered, anyone remains innocent. A girl has been labeled a terrorist through a trial.”
The AIMIM spokesperson highlighted, “We have long witnessed such atrocities against Muslims. Only hatred is being spread against them. We see this daily. Even now, we are witnessing oppression against Muslims in West Bengal. It is the responsibility of the central government to stop any party involved in such violence, be it BJP, TMC, or others.”
In response to Minister Sanjay Shirsat’s demand for an investigation into AIMIM’s role in the TCS case, Pathan remarked, “The matter is under consideration and pending in court. The media is, in a way, conducting a trial and labeling them as terrorists. This is utterly wrong. According to the law, a person is considered innocent until proven guilty in court.”
Additionally, Pathan congratulated Vijay, the leader of the Tamilga Vetrikazhagam (TVK), on becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
Previously, Pathan had stated, “Everyone knows what was happening in Bengal; the law and order situation had completely collapsed. I was present in Bengal as our party contested in 11 seats.”
