Noida, August 7: In a significant development, police have arrested a wanted suspect linked to a serious case involving a financial transaction of Rs 2.5 million in the Dankaur area of Gautam Buddh Nagar. According to police reports, the accused is charged with taking money from the deceased, failing to return it, behaving rudely, and issuing death threats. This distressing situation reportedly led to the victim consuming a toxic substance, resulting in his death during treatment.
On August 1, 2026, the wife of the deceased, Naveen Sharma, filed a complaint at the Dankaur police station. The complaint alleged that Yashpal Sharma and his son Vijaypal Sharma had taken Rs 2.5 million in cash from Naveen Sharma. When Naveen requested the return of his money, the accused refused and behaved disrespectfully, even threatening his life.
The complaint indicated that the accused’s actions caused Naveen significant mental distress. Overwhelmed by stress and despair, he consumed a toxic substance. His family rushed him to the hospital, where he unfortunately passed away during treatment. Following this incident, the family filed a report, prompting the police to register a case at the Dankaur police station and initiate an investigation.
During the investigation, police intensified their search for the named suspects. On Friday, Dankaur police, acting on manual intelligence and confidential information, arrested the wanted suspect Vinay Kumar Sharma, also known as Vijaypal, near the Makoda roundabout in the Beta-2 area. The arrested individual has been identified as Vinay Kumar Sharma, son of Yashpal Sharma, a resident of village Dhanouri Khurd, and currently residing in Beta-1, Beta-2, Gautam Buddh Nagar. He is approximately 22 years old.
Authorities confirmed that a case has been registered at the Dankaur police station. The arrested suspect has been presented in court for further legal proceedings. Meanwhile, the search for other named suspects continues, and police stated that further actions will be based on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
