New Delhi, May 21: Vinod Bansal, the national spokesperson for the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), has welcomed the West Bengal government’s decision to make singing ‘Vande Mataram’ mandatory in madrasas. He stated that this initiative would instill a sense of nationalism among children in Bengal and enhance their connection to culture.
In a conversation, Bansal expressed his happiness over this decision, praising the Suvendu government for taking such phased measures. Previously, singing ‘Vande Mataram’ was made compulsory in government schools, and now all students in madrasas will begin their day with this patriotic song.
He emphasized that children will start their day with this new national energy, which was created by their ancestors on the sacred land of Bengal. This decision will awaken a sense of nationalism, instill values in children, and deepen their love for culture. Bansal remarked that this should have happened much earlier, lamenting that the land where ‘Vande Mataram’ was born has been bound for the past 75 years. Every student in Bengal will now be able to start their day with renewed vigor.
Bansal also reacted sharply to the opposition from some Muslims regarding the declaration of the cow as the national animal. He noted that as Bakrid approaches, certain jihadist elements are continuously provoking the sentiments of the Hindu community. He pointed out the contradictory statements from different clerics, with some opposing cow sacrifice while others insist on it.
He warned these individuals in clear terms not to challenge the sentiments of the Hindu community, the culture of the country, and the respect and love for the cow. The consequences of such actions could be very serious.
