Vijay Vikram Singh: The Voice Behind Bigg Boss Discusses Identity in the Viral Age

Mumbai, August 20: Indian voice-over artist Vijay Vikram Singh is widely recognized as the powerful narrator of the popular reality show ‘Bigg Boss.’ In a recent interview, he emphasized that he is the voice of ‘Bigg Boss,’ not the show itself.

He stated, “Many people think I am Bigg Boss, which often leads to confusion. However, this identity has never weighed me down; instead, it has always been beneficial.”

Discussing ‘Bigg Boss,’ Singh noted that the show is structured in a way that reveals the true nature of all participants, regardless of their celebrity status, by the end.

When asked about the current industry trend where controversy, viral moments, and social media revelations have become essential, he responded, “Today, everyone wants to go viral. Sometimes, people do extraordinary things just to achieve that. I’m not just talking about reality shows; this is a general observation about social media. To stay in the public eye and remain relevant, some talent is necessary. Nowadays, individuals are even willing to compromise their personalities to stay in the news.”

He added, “The entire world is caught in this situation. In the pursuit of virality, people are forgetting who they truly are. They are straying from their authentic selves, trying to do things that will make them viral on social media or globally. This issue is not limited to reality television; it has become a societal problem. People aspire to become what will make them viral instead of seeking their original or unique personalities.”

Vijay Vikram Singh also had a brief role as Judge Kamra in Netflix’s courtroom drama film ‘Ikka.’ When asked if making an impact with limited screen time was challenging, he replied, “No, when you are an important part of a great story, you just have to surrender to the process, which I did. Our director had a vision that I easily understood and immersed myself in. That’s why people remember the character.”

Singh believes that ‘Ikka’ has brought recognition to his acting career. He remarked, “I would say ‘Ikka’ did for my acting career what ‘Bigg Boss’ did for my voice career. It gave me recognition as an actor, while the show established my identity as a voice artist.”
