
New Delhi, April 25: Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan arrived in Jaipur on Saturday. He is set to participate in several significant events, including the 35th convocation of Rajasthan University and the 23rd Cancer Survivors Day program. His visit focuses on education, healthcare, and public welfare initiatives. It underscores his ongoing high-level involvement in service-oriented development through academic and social initiatives.
According to an official post shared on the Vice President’s social media, “Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan was welcomed at Jaipur International Airport by Rajasthan Governor R. H. Khadse, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Prem Chand Baidwan, and other dignitaries. Today, the Vice President will attend the 35th convocation of Rajasthan University and the 23rd Cancer Survivors Day event at the Bhagwan Mahavir Cancer Hospital and Research Centre.”
During the Cancer Survivors Day, organized by the Bhagwan Mahavir Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, advancements in cancer treatment and the importance of community-based healthcare initiatives will be highlighted. Earlier, on Thursday, Vice President Radhakrishnan presided over the sixth convocation ceremony at AIIMS Rishikesh in Uttarakhand. He addressed graduating medical students, stating that a convocation is not merely the end of academic training but the beginning of a significant responsibility towards society and the nation. He urged young doctors to serve with dedication, compassion, and determination.
He emphasized that healthcare is a public trust and a vital pillar of nation-building, encouraging graduates to focus on preventive care, access to rural areas, research, and innovation. He also highlighted the spiritual and cultural significance of Rishikesh as a global center for healing and contemplation, which adds further value to such academic achievements.
Referring to India’s response during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vice President praised the nation’s resilience under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He mentioned the success of the nationwide vaccination campaign, which reached over 1.4 billion citizens, and highlighted India’s contribution to global health cooperation through “Vaccine Maitri,” which provided vaccines to over 100 countries, strengthening India’s role in global health collaboration.
