New Delhi, February 21: Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan is set to visit Tamil Nadu on Sunday. He will participate in the foundation-laying ceremony for the statue of V.O. Chidambaram Pillai in Vandipur, Madurai.

During his visit, Vice President Radhakrishnan will not only attend the statue ceremony but also tour the Thirukostiyur Soumya Narayan Perumal Temple and the Rani Velu Nachiyar Palace in Shivaganga.

Earlier, on Saturday, in celebration of International Mother Language Day, Vice President Radhakrishnan released the eighth edition of the Tamil and Gujarati versions of the Indian Constitution, along with a legal glossary (English-Hindi).

He emphasized the significance of the Tamil language as a classical language with a rich literary heritage and described Gujarati as a language with profound cultural and philosophical depth. This initiative aims to make the Constitution accessible to citizens in their mother tongues, thereby enhancing democratic participation and awareness.

The Vice President commended the Ministry of Law and Justice for making the Constitution more accessible to citizens through these translations.

At the National CSR Summit 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, the Vice President stated that when institutions collaborate, society and the nation progress collectively. He noted that such cooperation is increasingly vital during India’s transformative phase.

Highlighting India’s progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership over the past decade, he mentioned that India has now become the world’s fourth-largest economy and is on track to become the third-largest soon.

He pointed out that structural reforms, inclusive growth, digital connectivity, financial inclusion, and infrastructure development have lifted over 250 million citizens out of extreme poverty, raising hopes across various sectors and communities.

The Vice President asserted that deep partnerships among government, industry, and civil society are essential for the next phase of development.
