Jodhpur, August 3: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) held an important semi-annual meeting under the leadership of Dr. Surendra Jain, the central joint general secretary. This meeting is particularly significant as it commemorates the centenary year of Ashok Singhal, a prominent figure in the Hindutva movement and the Ram Temple campaign.
During the meeting, Dr. Jain announced plans for a large civic conference in Jodhpur to honor Singhal, who had strong ties to the region. The VHP aims to recruit over five lakh active members across all districts to ensure outreach to every Hindu community in the state.
Dr. Jain also mentioned that conferences for saints will be organized, combining two to three districts. Saints will be encouraged to adopt villages and work towards ending conversions, substance abuse, and caste discrimination, thereby fostering a culture of values. He emphasized that with the guidance of saints, the VHP aims to liberate Rajasthan from these social issues.
Additionally, the Durga Vahini has decided to conduct valor marches in every district to raise awareness about women’s responsibilities in protecting society. The Bajrang Dal has also resolved to hold youth conferences.
Dr. Jain highlighted the need for promoting cow-based agriculture, citing health issues caused by chemical fertilizers and the degradation of land. Farmers practicing cow-based agriculture will be honored in gaushalas (cow shelters), and their experiences will be shared to benefit other farmers.
He raised concerns about encroachments along Rajasthan’s borders, where illegal mosques, madrasas, and shrines pose a threat to national security. The government has taken action to remove these structures, which should not exist within a 50 km radius of the border.
Dr. Jain appealed to the Muslim community to support national security by removing illegal structures, asserting that they are as patriotic as Hindus. He warned that resistance to this removal could raise suspicions.
He also addressed issues related to the Waqf Board, alleging that its CEO, Abu Sofia, has been in power for 16 years and is considered a key conspirator in a significant scam involving the registration of government properties. Dr. Jain urged the government to remove him and others involved, calling for an investigation and strict action against the guilty parties.
