Udaipur, September 21 (Patrika English News): The second edition of the Vedanta Hindustan Zinc City Half Marathon is set to be held in Udaipur on Sunday, starting from the Udaipur Field Club. Organized by Hindustan Zinc, the world’s largest integrated zinc producer, the marathon has drawn participation from over 7,000 runners representing 27 states across India and several foreign countries — surpassing last year’s record of 5,000 participants.

The marathon supports the Run for Zero Hunger campaign led by Anil Agarwal Foundation’s Nand Ghar initiative, aimed at eliminating malnutrition in India.
Race Categories and Prize Pool
The event offers cash prizes and awards worth over ₹3 lakh. Participants will run across Udaipur’s scenic routes, including Fateh Sagar Lake and the Aravalli ranges. The marathon features four categories: 5 km, 10 km, 21 km, and Race with Champions.
All finishers will receive unique medals crafted from zinc, produced by Hindustan Zinc. The marathon is open to professional athletes, senior citizens, children, and differently-abled participants, making it a true celebration of community spirit.

Special Arrangements for Runners
Hydration Stations managed by ABCR will be set up along the route.
Medical stations and rest points will be provided by Geetanjali Hospital, staffed with expert doctors and physiotherapists.
The route will showcase Udaipur’s cultural heritage, passing landmarks such as the Maharana Pratap Memorial, Saheliyon Ki Bari gardens, and Neemach Mata Temple hill.
A Globally Recognized Event
After the success of its first edition in 2024, the marathon returns with a larger vision. It is an official member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), certified for its course standards. Globally listed in the racing calendar, the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon is now recognized as one of India’s most beautiful marathons, highlighting not only athletic excellence but also Udaipur’s cultural and natural richness.
