Varun Aaron Appointed Bowling Coach for Glasgow Cosmic in European T20 Premier League

Glasgow, June 22: Glasgow Cosmic has appointed former Indian cricket team fast bowler Varun Aaron as their bowling coach for the inaugural season of the European T20 Premier League (ETPL).

After his appointment, Varun expressed his excitement, stating, “I am truly looking forward to this opportunity with Glasgow Cosmic. My discussions with Matthew Hayden, Vipul Agarwal, Tansha Batra, and Rashid Khan made it clear what they are trying to build here. I wanted to be a part of it.”

He added, “When you look at the squad, there are players like Finn Allen, Liam Livingstone, Kamindu Mendis, Keshav Maharaj, Lungi Ngidi, Moises Henriques, Ali Khan, Richie Berrington, and George Munsey, who have proven themselves at the highest level. Working with such a team and helping them give their best will be very exciting as a coach.”

Glasgow Cosmic is owned by the Mugafi Group. The group’s chairman, Vipul Agarwal, remarked, “Varun has always been respected for his work ethic and cricketing knowledge. We believe he will be a fantastic mentor for the players in the dressing room.”

Co-owner Tansha Batra expressed her happiness, saying, “We are very pleased to welcome Varun to the Glasgow Cosmic family. His experience, especially as a fast bowler, will be invaluable during the tournament.”

Rashid Khan, CEO of Mugafi Sports, stated, “From the beginning, our focus has been on creating a strong cricketing environment. Varun’s appointment is a crucial step in that direction. We are very happy to have him on the team.”

Varun, who has played 9 Tests and 9 ODIs for India, has emerged as an excellent bowling coach in recent times. In IPL 2026, he served as the fast bowling coach for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The team’s young bowlers, Praful Hinge and Saqib Hussain, credited their success during the season to Aaron’s guidance.
