Haridwar, March 7: The BJP government in Uttarakhand marked its four-year anniversary with a special event in Haridwar. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted the government’s achievements and emphasized the need to accelerate development.
The event saw the presence of several BJP leaders, including Mahamandaleshwar Lalitanand Giri Maharaj, who spoke with the news agency INS. He expressed pride in Uttarakhand, known as the spiritual capital of the world. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a deep connection with Uttarakhand. He has practiced meditation here and gained wisdom from saints and sages. Home Minister Amit Shah has also worked for the development of the country and Uttarakhand. Soon, the central government will assist in organizing the Ardh Kumbh in Uttarakhand,” he stated.
Mahamandaleshwar Balakand Giri also congratulated the Prime Minister and Home Minister, as well as CM Dhami for his dedication to serving the people of Uttarakhand over the past four years. “His determination and goodwill have significantly contributed to the state’s progress. This event has inspired the youth to recognize what the government has accomplished for the state and the nation,” he said.
Swami Chidanand Muni Maharaj noted the remarkable changes over the past 11 years, calling them exceptional. The president of the Badrinath-Kedarnath committee also attended, stating that there is immense enthusiasm among workers across the state. “The development work under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi and CM Dhami reflects our core mantra: ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas.’ The government has undertaken development initiatives that show the entire Uttarakhand stands with CM Dhami,” he remarked.
Former MLA Mukesh Kohli participated in the event, expressing confidence in Home Minister Amit Shah’s upcoming address, which he believes will energize and inspire attendees. Meanwhile, Shadab Shams, chairman of the Uttarakhand Waqf Board, praised the achievements of the “double-engine government.” He noted, “People in Uttarakhand are thriving, with income more than doubling. Under PM Modi’s leadership, the state is progressing rapidly. Today, every resident of Uttarakhand is filled with joy, and Amit Shah’s presence at the event signifies that these four years have been remarkable for the public.”
BJP leader Neha Joshi commented on the unprecedented developments in Uttarakhand over the past four years. “Four years ago, people viewed Uttarakhand as a ‘pendulum state,’ where parties rarely returned to power. However, the blessings from the public have been accepted with sincerity. The Dhami government has worked to maintain that trust daily, whether through job creation for youth or the Lakshmi Didis scheme.”
