Dehradun, April 15: The Uttarakhand Department of Food and Civil Supplies held a high-level review meeting on Wednesday. The meeting aimed to assess the availability of domestic and commercial LPG, as well as petrol and diesel supplies.
This initiative comes in light of the upcoming Char Dham Yatra, tourism, and wedding season.
Food Secretary Anand Swaroop chaired the meeting, which included state-level coordinators, representatives from oil companies, and district supply officers from across the state.
During the meeting, the Secretary emphasized that all district officials must ensure a seamless supply of LPG and fuel to prevent any inconvenience to the public.
He instructed officials to strengthen supply arrangements and maintain adequate stock, anticipating the arrival of millions of pilgrims during the Char Dham Yatra.
Officials from various districts shared their insights on operational challenges. These included seasonal spikes in LPG demand, increased consumption of commercial cylinders due to the wedding season, transportation and distribution issues, and the need for better coordination at the agency level. The Secretary directed that all these issues be resolved promptly.
Representatives from oil companies assured the administration of their commitment to maintaining supply according to established standards and swiftly addressing district-level concerns. They highlighted ongoing coordination with local agencies to ensure smooth distribution.
The Secretary instructed oil companies to collaborate with gas agencies in all districts to ensure timely deliveries and immediate resolution of any disruptions. District supply officers were advised to maintain constant monitoring and take prompt action whenever necessary.
Special emphasis was placed on maintaining adequate availability of fuel and LPG along major travel routes and key stops during the Char Dham Yatra, ensuring that pilgrims and tourists do not face any difficulties.
