Bihar Police Uncover Skeleton of Missing Youth, Two Arrested

Gopalganj, April 19: In a significant development in the case of a youth who went missing two years ago, Bihar police have arrested two individuals and claim to have solved the mystery. The skeletal remains and a head were discovered in a drain in the Kuchaykot police station area.

Authorities assert that the skeleton belongs to the missing youth. A police officer revealed on Sunday that the deceased’s two friends have been taken into custody in connection with the case.

The incident dates back 25 months when Chandan, a resident of Sasamusa in Kuchaykot, suddenly disappeared. He had left home with friends but never returned. His family later filed a written complaint at the Kuchaykot police station, suspecting abduction. However, no progress was made for a long time. Now, after more than two years, police claim to have unraveled the murder case.

The discovery occurred in Sasamusa, where police recovered Chandan’s skeleton, which was identified by his family. The remains were found in a drain, with the operation conducted in the presence of a magistrate. Recently, the victim’s family had approached senior police officials seeking updates on the case.

To crack this abduction case, Gopalganj Superintendent of Police Vinay Tiwari formed a special team. This team gathered inputs from the family, analyzed old call records, tracked mobile locations, and monitored the activities of suspects. As a result, two friends, Deepak Kumar and Mannu Kumar, were detained for questioning. Following rigorous interrogation, police disclosed the details of the murder case.

After questioning the two friends, police excavated the drain in Sasamusa using a JCB, leading to the recovery of a skeleton and a head. Authorities claim that the suspects confessed to murdering Chandan on the same day he was abducted and disposing of his body in the drain. The police have arrested both friends and plan to conduct scientific tests on the recovered remains to confirm their identity.
