Uttar Pradeshs Technological Transformation: CM Yogi Highlights Progress and Challenges

Lucknow, October 6 (Daily Kiran) : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently outlined the significant technological and economic advancements in Uttar Pradesh, attributing these changes to the current government’s policies. He criticized previous administrations for failing to harness the state’s vast potential, claiming they perpetuated a cycle of underdevelopment.

In a post on social media platform X, Adityanath noted that Uttar Pradesh now accounts for approximately 60% of mobile phone production and 55% of electronics components in India. He highlighted the establishment of an HCL-Foxconn chip unit in Jewar, which has an investment of ₹3,706 crore, as a pivotal development. The state has also received proposals for data centers with a combined capacity of 644 megawatts, and boasts over 24,000 startups, including eight unicorns, reflecting a burgeoning entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the state’s trajectory has shifted from being stagnant before 2017 to a vibrant hub for technology and innovation. He pointed out that under past leadership, nepotism became a dominant model for development, overshadowing genuine progress.

Adityanath stressed that when priorities are skewed towards family interests over state welfare, and criminals over investors, it hampers the creation of a conducive environment for future technologies. His administration has redirected this focus, prioritizing state development and investor protection over mafia influence.

With the growing demand for data centers, Uttar Pradesh is advancing towards becoming an AI city, preparing for the digital economy of the future. The government aims to connect one million youths with new technologies through initiatives like AI-Pragya. This growing startup ecosystem is not just about job seekers; it aims to empower young people to become job creators.

The Chief Minister remarked that Uttar Pradesh is transitioning from being merely a market for technology to becoming a producer of technology. He will participate in an event marking the 10th anniversary of HCL Tech in Lucknow, where the HCL-GUVI Emerging Tech Skilling Center will also be inaugurated. This milestone is viewed as a significant step in boosting investment in the state’s IT and tech sectors. Adityanath concluded that expanding technology, investment, skill development, and employment opportunities is essential for a “new Uttar Pradesh.”
