Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test 2026 Begins Amid Tight Security

Lucknow, July 2: The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 commenced on Thursday, July 2, and will run for three days. To ensure a completely cheating-free and transparent examination process, strict security measures have been implemented across the state.

Organized by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), the exam is being conducted in 60 districts from July 2 to July 4. The test will take place in five shifts, determining eligibility for teaching positions at both primary (grades 1 to 5) and upper primary (grades 6 to 8) levels.

In Prayagraj, the examination began at 53 centers, where candidates were allowed entry only after undergoing rigorous security checks. Extensive arrangements have been made at the centers to prevent cheating.

A candidate from Jaunpur shared with a news agency, “I have come to take the UPTET exam. The arrangements here are excellent. There are strict security measures in place, and electronic gadgets are not permitted inside. I believe biometric attendance will also be conducted.”

Another candidate remarked, “We are here to take the UPTET paper. The arrangements are quite good, and security measures are stringent.”

Additionally, one more candidate stated, “The security arrangements are very good. I am well-prepared, but I will only know if the paper is easy or difficult after taking the exam.”

In Amethi, candidates began arriving at their respective examination centers early in the morning. In Lucknow, candidates from various districts reached their designated centers on time to participate in the exam.

In Varanasi, the examination is being held under high-tech security measures. Biometric verification, CCTV surveillance, jammers, and a heavy police presence have been deployed to ensure the exam is conducted fairly and without cheating.

In Unnao, the exam is being held at seven centers, with 2,352 candidates participating. All candidates were allowed entry only after thorough security checks.

In Pratapgarh, the UPTET exam has started at 18 centers, with 44,700 candidates taking part in the examination.

Most candidates have praised the arrangements and security measures at the examination centers, stating that they are being given the opportunity to take the exam in a fair environment.
